Hello all,
I just got back my O reproducer that I sent to Steve for repairs and rebuild. This is the first time that I have used his service. He did a fantastic job! The reproducer sounds so nice and has amazing volume. The reproducer was in tough shape when I got it. It was frozen in the carriage. Someone else had damaged the tube top trying to pull it free. I was able to carefully tap it out of the carriage. The hinge block stud was broken. The copper diaphragm was perforated ( Steve re soldered it) Both stylus needed rotating. Steve repaired and rebuilt the reproducer and it turned out great. For now I have left the damaged top tube as is. Steve used silicone to secure a copper plumbing fitting on the top for now. When the rubber horn connector is put on the reproducer the damaged part does not show at all. Apparently Ron Sitko is in the process of having reproduction O tops made out of brass with nickel plating. I may up grade the top at a later date. For those of you that are new to the Forum and have reproducers that need rebuilding or repair do not hesitate in sending them to Steve. His workmanship is fantastic and his prices are more than reasonable!
all the best
