I'm new to the forum. I finally got my Grandmother's Victrola from the grasp of my sister. I have cleaned it from top to bottom. Now I'm wondering what I should apply to the wood finish to make it last another 100 years. Can someone guide me in what I need to do next? Thanks for your comments.

It looks like a nice VV-XIV that needs nothing but love. Jerry

Looks like someone has taken good care of that beautiful oak XIV...
I suggest Howards Feed N Wax to keep it looking its best.

I would almost tell you to leave it alone. It's a very nice looking 14. I recently got the same in oak also sparingly used Howard's restore a finish neutral color and a bit of the feed and wax mentioned by another poster. Becareful as it may darken the wood. Test some spots on that finished back. Mine darkened but is still very nice looking. Good luck you have a great machine in oak and not the dread mahogany.

I am fond of Kotton Klenser's Lemon Oil & Beeswax polish for routine maintenance. So far I have not noticed any darkening from it.

The wood on that machine looks wonderful!

I've had good success with Howards Feed N Wax also. We use it on all of our interior wood, including our Brunswick. Even used in on the new kitchen cabinets. It's designed to be the "top coat" protectant on a finished surface. We live in dusty New Mexico and it seems to do a good job repelling dust. It's got beeswax and essential oils in it. Works well for us. Most antique malls around here have a vendor selling it. "Big Box" home improvement stores have it too.

FYI, Howard's is a stock item at Home Despot.
