The first tune on the list, later made familiar to a new generation by Tiny Tim, featured the Don Vorhees Orchestra. Vorhees later conducted the orchestra on The Bell Telephone Hour, a popular TV program featuring classical and semi-classical music. Donald Vorhees was an Allentown native who had great musical success in New York. Around 1953 he began a long career as the founding conductor of the Allentown Symphony, retiring in the 1980s. Through his connections with the NYC music scene and the Bell program, Vorhees was able to bring many famous musicians, especially opera singers, to perform with the Symphony. He is well remembered in the music community of this area.

It may have been just a coincidence that Western Electric, a Bell (AT&T) manufacturing subsidiary, had a big plant located in Allentown. The first transistors were manufactured there in the late '40s.

I wonder where these were uploaded from? I would not surprise me if they were just copied from the archaeophone CD sets, ignoring their efforts with the claim that "these are Public Domain"

The transfers are very consistent and professionally done. Could be the Archeophone indeed.
