I have a Baby Console in perfect condition, both cabinet and motor. Collectors tend to look down on BCs because they are common and are a console style, almost as common as the Edison Chippendale. When they look as good as mine, they are very handsome machines in my opinion. Some collectors use them as furniture just to display their Edison Firesides and Gems. The early BCs came with the small size horn, but then they switched it to have the medium size horn. BC's were introduced in 1923 and every one that I've seen has those 10" - 12" buttons for guiding the reproducer to the record rim.

I also have a BC-34, my first machine. It plays nicely, reasonably loud for normal size rooms. The design blends better into a modern room than an upright and it has the advantage that you can use it as sideboard or display smaller machines on top of it. Don't buy it for collector value and I wouldn't buy one that needs lots of work or is incomplete. It was Edison's best seller for quite some time, so it is fairly common.

An A150 is a very nice machine. Let's see some pics if you have time.

Thanks
I especially like the iodized reproducer wood grained horn and the very period cabinet very pretty machine to my eye and wow is it loud! I am almost digging more than my Victrola bu it is comparing apples and oranges. The diamond needle is a big plus you don't have to change the needle every play but I will do a separate post about it
