A really great performance here:

Moonglow (Victor 27405-A; ca. 1940, but I will check the dates later)
Addendum: recorded in Hollywood, Jan. 23, 1941 (055258-1)

Great transfer (as always) Adam. I love this song and I was going to say that the date was incorrect, but I realised that I was thinking of the Benny Goodman version that was issued in 1937. Just to present an alternative version here is the link to the Benny Goodman and his quartette which was issued on the HMV label in the UK under their 1937 swing series.

Shaw's Moonglow is one of the all time great versions, IMO. I have this 78 and have spun it often.
Goodman's is my favorite though, simply for Hamp's wonderful work on the vibes.

Any thoughts on Goodman's big band version (Columbia 2927-D)? I have it on a Royal Blue 78 but in poor condition.
