I recently did some horse trading in order to pick up this Columbia BF.
It's a machine that I've always wanted, as I love serpentine cases.
Can someone more knowledgeable than I am tell me if the aluminum horn is original?
It is much lighter than any repro. I've had.
The seam runs on a slight diagonal from bell to tip.

A Gramophone or a Graphophone??.

There have been some really good reproduction aluminum horns made in the last few years so maybe someone can give a lesson on the differences between the good reproductions and originals. Your horn appears to be the correct style of horn and it appears to have some minor bumps and bruises which would indicate some age. It looks like a nice older horn so my vote is for "original". I hope I'm correct. Jerry Blais

Either this very horn or one exactly like it was just sold on Ebay by the seller "neelam". You may want to do a search... .

This horn and machine have been in the collection of a very good friend and NJ phonograph collector for the past few years, so it's not the one that was sold recently on ebay.

Gene,

I have 15 original aluminum horns and yours looks to be original, the seams all look correct. There are
2 end styles, the first is straight like yours and is the one you have to use on an AW. The other has a rolled end, this one
can't be used on the AW. An original weighs just under 4 ounces
