My Frankenphone redone....

Well I have just finished redoing my frankenphone I picked up a few weeks ago. It is an unusal piece and I like it much better now. The motor is unusual and has a taper bronze shaft for the turntable to set on, there is no brake as such and it uses the speed adjustment to stop the motor. The back of the case where the arm support fits is similar to a Talk o phone bracket, and the case is some what similar to a Columbia.
I had to make a new top plate as the original was severly warped. I built the back bracket arm, the screws and fastening plate. and the horn arm. I used repo Columbia long reproducer, and horn.
I am attaching pictures of it now and the before pictures.

Nice job, Dave! I would not have recognized it - quite a transition! Roy

Very nice work, indeed !
That speed control ( from what I can see in the photos ) looks a lot like those used on my 'Teens Grafonolae, with the knobbed lever operating a cam that crowds the speed regulating felts into the governor disc...
Please share a video of it at work...

It sounds super nice with a medium tone needle. the nirona horn was very tiny and sharp sounding, this is smooth and mellow. Gene Autry signing Rudolph the red nose reindeer sounds great!

Looks nice, but what happened to the decal?

Decal went when the case was striped, I have a friend that is working on trying to make one for me.
