Three new issues of the City of London Phonograph and Gramophone Society's publications, the Reference Series are now available on-line.
RS26 The Amberol in Britain – by Frank Andrews and Tim Wood-Woolley. This is a meld of information regarding the Amberol in the UK from Frank’s sadly out of print book “Edison Phonograph – The British Connection” with other data provided by Tim. The book contains pictures of original publicity and the enclosed CD covers British wax and blue Amberols to celebrate the centenary in 2013 of the launch of the Blue Amberols in the UK. £6.00
RS27 Homophone and Homochord Records in the United Kingdom by Frank Andrews and Bill Dean-Myatt is the latest in the series of research works containing the history of the label with a CD containing a computer searchable discography. Many pictures covering the wide variety of record labels can also be found on the CD. £16.00
RS28 A Selection of Music from Germanic Europe, by Dominic Combe. Dominic has produced another musical tour of Europe, this time roaming from England to Austria. This is an ideal companion to the look at the Latin countries in RS21. In typical style he captures the sound of the region in the early twentieth Century, with much information about the 22 tracks on the accompanying CD. £6.00
CLPGS members may deduct £1.00 from each of the prices quoted above.
