When you order records from Borri Audio Laboratories, you get something like below. This is an order for 4 recordings. The blanks are new ones made by me, and recorded just the same as brown wax records in the 1890s, with an Edison floating weight style recorder, and they are acoustic recordings. I prefer making acoustically recorded records, to electrical. I have improved some technical aspects of dubbing, where the resultant cylinders are loud, clear and wide range. I However I use mostly glass diaphragms. Notice the North American selection is on a North American style blank with the channel rim. Yes I do like the new plastic moulded records, but I like the challenge of making something authentic too, down to the formula, a re-creation of Edison's brown wax formula. These blanks are double spiral, brown wax blanks, the spiral is in the mold, and the records are unscrewed. I have several videos of this on youtube of the process both of making the blanks and recording on them. Modern stearic acid does give the advantage of a harder, more durable blank, and the new process of making stearic acid results in very quiet blanks.
