Who makes/sells springs for a Paillard motor in Europe?

Hello, all!
I think I mentioned earlier that I was looking for a replacement spring on my Expert Minor, which has a GGR 255 motor made by Paillard. I tried reaching out to soundgen about getting springs, but never heard back from him. Does anyone know anyone else who might have a source for replacement springs? If so, I would be most grateful.
Thanks!
Garret

I'm surprised you haven't heard back from soundgen but in the meantime you could try Ken Priestly of Holmfirth Antiques on
http://www.fonograf.talktalk.net/
or telephone 01484 686854
I've always found him very good at sourcing replacement springs.

Subject: Re: Paillard Spring Repair
Hello Garret
Thanks for your email
These are the springs I currently have for sale on Ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/m.html?_odkw= ... &_from=R40
I am not familiar with the Paillard motor you mention , I do have a lot of old springs which I use for my own repairs and I also have many motors which I cannibalize springs again for my own use , these are much cheaper than the new springs on Ebay
I can sell the Ebay springs directly for 10 % less , as Ebay fees are 10%
Can you send a picture of the motor that always helps and do you know the spring barrel dimensions and fixings ?
Regards
Mike

[quote="Garret"]Oh. Hmmm. Not sure what happened there. I sent you a response to your message, and then never heard back, and then forgot about it all. Regardless, Mike, thank you for the response here! Here are some details.
The inside barrel diameter is: approximately 3 21/32" (1/32" measuring tape)
The thickness of the spring is: exactly .025" (per a .0001" micrometer)
Please find below a photo of the motor, the springs, and the barrel. The springs have an "eye hook" catch on both ends, and the center hook attaches to a cylindrical metal piece. That cylindrical metal piece has been photographed both separately and with the spring.
That is a large diameter spring barrel ! I guess it would need a 19ft spring for optimal performance , as it is a double spring a shorter one would woek as there are two springs

Oops. Spring height is either exactly 1" or 63/64" It's really hard to tell, both from my tape measure and micrometer. Hope that helps!

So what you need is a 1" ( 25mm ) eye / eye spring 19 ft long ! I have an eye / hub spring made this length for Columbia motors but not an eye / eye spring .
The nearest new spring is this one ( about the same thickness )
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231104474250? ... 1558.l2649
It would work OK but is not optimal , I'll have a look and see if I can find a longer "old " new stock one

Mike,
Thank you so much! If you could look and see if you have a new old stock of the proper length, I would be grateful.
