Here is my new addition to the family. The horn is one of Eduardo's. He does a wonderful job. I probably should have wiped the dust off, but it just comes back. Merry Christmas to everyone.

That's a nice machine! I really like the look of those Victor outside horn phonographs, altough i don't know much about them, to be honest. When was the Victor V made, if i may ask?

Thanks guys. This is another machine I got from a forum member.
Timo, The Victor V was produced from 1905 all the way into the 20's. This machine dates around 1909. The early models had the barrel brake and was changed in 1912 or 13 to a friction brake. Years ago I had a Victor V that had an automatic brake, but they are rare. I suggest you get Baumbacks Victor Data Book if you want to learn about the various models and years. It is the Bible when it comes to Victor products.

Okay. I think it's interesting that Victor produced a outside horn phonograph into the 1920s, as in the 1920s the internal horn phonographs were ruling the market. Did this model enjoy great sales in the 1920s?

No. It was at the end of horn machines.
