I have some 78's with the Victrola label, Why did some have the Victrola label as opposed to the Victor label? I notice the ones I have are red and purple color labels.

I've never seen a purple (or blue) label Victor with Victrola on it.Victrolacollector wrote:I have some 78's with the Victrola label, Why did some have the Victrola label as opposed to the Victor label? I notice the ones I have are red and purple color labels.
Agreed, and there's no reference in the Collector's Guide to Victrola being on anything but the red label.Wolfe wrote:I've never seen a purple (or blue) label Victor with Victrola on it.Victrolacollector wrote:I have some 78's with the Victrola label, Why did some have the Victrola label as opposed to the Victor label? Collector's Club Pressings (white)
Program Transcriptions (black, long playing)
Special order Pressings (white)
plus some Marketing labels
There's a labeling error mentioned on page 225 that shows "Victrola" on a black scroll label
(there may be other examples)
