A Small Group of Serbo-Croatian Recordings from the 1920s

Bought an old phonograph and it came with a small collection of Serbo-Croatian records. Usually, the records of this genre I've seen are really beat and of little interest to my 'western' ear, but these were better quality records and not unpleasant to listen to.

Oh, man, Cliff, if I ran across this cache, I'd consider it a major find! I tend to really like a lot of the music on the green-label Columbias of this period. I've had a few Italian ones with lusty Neapolitan songs that were delightful, and even had some with Chinese Opera selections, years ago. These Serbo-Croatian ones sound terrific to me. (I thought they'd be longer, though...) But then, I'll listen to anything (I have no taste in music, none!). I even love the soviet state orchestral and choral stuff, and I have an inordinate fondness for the Romanian singer Maria Tanase...must be my eastern European blood.

I kind of cracked up a little when I saw the VE titled Dude More Dude, and wondered what happened to its companion disc, Dude More Cowbell! But joking aside, that does sound like a really lovely selection. Thanks very much for sharing these!
