Just got a couple good pics of an Edison model C reproducer stylus. Never seen one before. Heard about what they looked like, first one I've actually seen up close. Cool!

I took several pictures and posted them here a few weeks back with my experience rotating the stylus in the bar (my stylus was chipped).

Yours is in very nice condition.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you use for the camera/macro setup?

I use an old school style, reverse lens adapter on my Sony A230 with a Minolta MAXXUM 35-70 Telephoto/Zoom/Macro f1:4 lens. It works, but I have to function the shutter manually and control the aperture with a friction ring that came with the adapter. When I use a small aperture for a deeper depth of field, light through the lens becomes an issue and I find it difficult to focus in the lower light image, so I will focus with the aperture wide open and then stop it down to my desired exposure and DOF.

Very cool! I have a Model C reproducer with a bad stylus and I hope to be able to fix it by rotating like you did.

I use a Canon Power Shot S3. The automatic macro capability on this little camera is the best I've seen. You can actually set something right on the lens and it will take a sharp clear picture. There are a ton of them for sale on eBay at around $50.

I have a macro setup that is amazing. It is a Nikon D-80 with a Nikon Macro lens. Coupled with a set of Kenko tubes and I get pictures like this. Never used it on phonograph things. The spider is about the size of a grain of rice.

Great picture! And a very handsome spider! Tarantulas are another interest of mine, though much larger than this little guy.

Macro-technique Photography has always interested me. I had envisioned having an extension bellows at some point for my Minolta's "in the old days" but that never materialized.

I really should try a dedicated lens and tubes.

I'm really impressed with the capability of such an inexpensive camera! I will keep it in mind.

Here's another love of mine. Its a reflection of a flower in a dew drop. If you look hard, you can see a very small bug on it. Very hard to do. By the way, that spider is in every house in the world.

I wonder if there is enough interest at TMF to start a dedicated photography subforum? Or is there one already that I haven't come across?

Or, to keep things more or less on topic, we could take macro photos of phonographs and parts in the vein of those "identify this" pictures. Things like a bundle of pencils taken from the eraser end and the like come to mind. I'm sure we could do this with common phono items arranged in unusual ways. It's tough enough to identify some of them with the whole item in the shot!
