Interesting Floor Model Modification

Thought some of you might enjoy this: A floor model with the lid lined with pink velveteen, with a neatly installed portable mechanism! Why would they not connect the tone arm to the internal horn?

Does the cabinet even have the original horn in it? It could be the person who created this was faced with a cabinet with no horn at all.
