Has anyone else had a chance to see this?

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries has just started airing here on our local public television and wow it's a lot of fun. The cars, the images, the characters, the sound track! I'm hooked.

This show began in 2012 on Australian television and is set in 1920's Melbourne.

Did I mention the sound track? Tonight I was thrilled to see a soundbox touch a record and hear Sonny Clay coming through my set and it played while the dialog continued. Partway through the record the soundbox was lifted off and back into the action we went. As brief as it was nice to see them interacting with a phonograph too.

listen to Sonny Clay...

The show is spotted with great music of the era and an internet search has discovered two CDs of the show's music.

Exactly. This show is not as deep, but it makes up for it by being extremely entertaining.

The wife and I have been watching it on PBS and Netflix instant watch. Entertaining and much better than ridiculous reality TV shows.

Hi I while not currently watching Mystery I have been a fan of the show since it came on the air here in RI on the local PBS back in the early 80's back when Vincent Price was the host who is the host these days? I just got Netflix and will have to look for it thanks. You are right There is a lot of garbage on TV not to insult people here but who wants to watch a bunch ( you fill in the blank) people who make duck calls?
I am sorry but this is the day of lowest common denominator Did ever see the movie " Idiocracy" ? Enough said
Thanks again for the heads up

My thoughts exactly.

Never have we had so many TV channels, yet never have we had such an abundance of inane rubbish. So many programmes appear to have been made by morons for the consumption of morons, featuring attention seeking non-entities and self styled "celebrities".

This situation has, however, brought the producers of quality DVD box sets a good deal of business. Poirot, Miss Marple, Inspector Morse, Sherlock Holmes, Foyle's War, Lord Peter Wimsey, Jeeves and Wooster etc, etc.

Having got that off my chest, I look forward to the appearance of Miss Fisher's series in the UK. It could be another jewel among all the TV dross.
