Does the Victor Orthophonic reproducer require any special needle type ??

No, it can accept standard steel, Tungs-Tone, Fibre, or Thorn needles.

Actually, the "Everplay" needle works very good in a Orthophonic. I think there is a member offering them....

Mine sounds really crappy - very distorted, low volumn level, buzzing, etc. I guess I need the reproducer rebuilt.

Pete Wall is good a rebuilding them. He sells the "Orthophonic Reproducer Repair Service" on eBay.

I second that. He's a good man. He does a great job and his prices are very reasonable.
