FOR SALE: 1899 Columbia type 1 Q - £155

I have decided to sell this little machine because I need the money to fix up two Edison machines I have had sitting around for years.

It runs smoothly and does play through a whole cylinder.
This is a type 1 caseless Q, serial #318734, meaning it is probably from early-mid 1899

There is a bit of history behind this machine, coming from an engraving made underneath the machine in 1945, saying:

From Chris Sterhenz
Collection
7328 terrace
K.C.MO.
1945-

I looked it up on Google maps and it could possibly be 7328 Terrace St, Kansas City, Missouri, if it is then a house still stands there and could be where this Q was in 1945, which could be quite interesting ;)

The only cons are that some parts have been replaced/upgraded at some point in it's life, this machine has the reproducer as would be found on the type 2 Q with the larger diaphragm and it also has the more ornate key as found on the type 2 (this has unfortunately broken) but other than that it is a good machine and plays well!

Please excuse some of the photos because some may make the machine look corroded or dirty but the flash emphasizes some of the tarnishing, this is a lot less significant in person.

I'm asking for offers, so just PM me if you're interested or have any questions.

Here are some video's of this machine playing (the horn used is a cut down trumpet, I can throw that in if you just need a horn to use)

I'd be interested in a swap/part exchange deal for a cygnet horn (any condition) or an Edison fireside maroon horn or a C and H reproducer to get my fireside up and running

If there is anyone interested in this machine then I would be very interested in doing a part exchange deal for a Edison Model H reproducer
