The case of my Edison Home B is very dried out and the lid is cracking, what is the best way to treat it?

I too have a couple that are this way - beginning to split and peel.

Suggestions for repair, or at least to arrest the deterioration / conserve the wood ?

Is the finish still good? If so, any of the wood polishes with lemon oil will work on it.

I had good success with Cotton Cleanser Protective Wood Feeder. It seems to have lemon oil and bees wax in it. You put it on thick and let it sit for 8-12 hours, then wipe off what hasn't been absorbed. I think Howard's Feed 'n' Wax is OK as well, but not quite as good for very dry wood.
