the perfect wrench for the retaining ring in the reproducer is a common utility knife blade. remove the sharp edge and turn the blade over, it spans the two cut outs in the retaining ring perfectly. if the retaining ring simply wont move you will have to clamp the reproducer in a vice, use two wooden blocks with cutouts for the neck of the reproducer and using the razor knife blade turn the ring out. if it is truly stuck you can use a small screwdriver in one of the slots and drive the ring around using a small brass hammer, if the ring can be removed this will do it. if the pot metal has swollen there is little you can do. once intergranular degeneration begins there is no way to stop it, you will have to find another reproducer body.
