this is a machine i picked up a few months ago. an original and unrestored machine in perfect working condition. the machine had no issues of any kind, the cabinet was perfect, all of the drawers had the spring clips, the motor and reproducer are in very good condition. i just shipped this machine to a collector in Texas...

I've gone green!.
That is a machine that just does not surface in the Uk playing one of my favourite melodies.
What is the state of the casework?. The bedplate looks as if just a clean would bring it back to almost pristine condition.

You might have shipped it to us. Mt. Pleasant Texas? We have it in our museum.

Very true.
The only example I can remember seeing was on the BBC's Antique Roadshow some years ago. I cannot remember the valuation placed upon it, but it would have been influenced by the fact that the first owner was Sir Harry Lauder, and the paperwork was there to prove it.
What might you have to pay for an example in the UK, assuming that one was ever offered for sale?

Epigramophone.
I remember seeing that particular programme and thinking that, as usual, a phonograph was being undervalued.
Cylinder phonographs were always a bit of a rarity in Britain, and floor-standing models almost unheard of.
I couldn't put a price on a 1B as I have never seen one for sale in over forty years.
Alistair.

I am working on a 1-B and hope to have it ready for Union. I've promised photos to one collector when it's finished but it will be in the $3500 to $4000 range. Jerry
