I believe that the Exhibition with a partially closed face was used primarily on some Vic O's. Jerry

That's not an Exhibition Jr. (which is an earlier model found on some Victor Royals), but a special Exhibition that was used on some 0s and some early Victrola IVs too.

The operative word is "some." There are collectors who swear that every 0 and every early IV must have this variant, but original unrestored machines of these types have been found with the typical Exhibition as well.

It's a nice variant to have, but the 0 or the early IV isn't necessarily incorrect without it.

Thanks for the clarification George. Glad to know it wouldn't be altogether incorrect to have a regular Exhibition on the Vic 0.

The earliest Victrola VI machines were also offered with this reproducer.

Over the past many years I've found a couple of open horn machines (a Victor II and a Victor I, both dating to 1912 or 1913) which were fitted with this reproducer, and appeared to have been so fitted since they were new.
Perhaps it was a jobber or dealer change.
