I have a VV-111 that I recently purchased that I am looking to sell. It runs great but the cabinet needs a lot of love. Should I sell the machine as it is? Should I sell the parts as a single unit in one listing? Or should I sell the parts individually? Like I said, the machine works great the cabinet is more than I am willing to deal with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I, personally, hate to see a Victrola parted out--even a relatively common model. But, I also realized that it all depends on what has to be done to the cabinet, and that restoration may not be economical or viable.

If possible, could you post a few photos?

Well, there are several ways you can try to generate a sale. You can try placing an ad in our "Yankee Trader" with detailed pics and description. I would definitely show any and all flaws (if any). This is to avoid any misunderstandings.

Your local Craigslist is another great option. I say "great", because many collectors (and forum members) scour CL. If it's good.......it will get snapped up fast.

Ebay would be another avenue. However, fees and logistics could be a major downfall in realizing a good sale.

In fact, any machine of size........logistics's will be an issue (unless sold locally).

The last place you may consider is your local auction house.

Regardless which you choose (if any).......I would still run an ad in our section of the forum anyway.

Here are the pics. I have the bottom doors but they are rotted and beyond repair.

Also, any good suggestions on where to find info about how to break this machine down? A place to find a demo of a machine being taken apart would be great.

It needs a lot of love, but I've seen worse machines restored. As it sits, it's not worth a lot - probably $75 or less as a complete unit. The VV-111 isn't exactly rare, but it's not near as common as some other machines like the VV-XI.

I wouldn't disassemble it or anything. If it were me, I'd list it whole on craigslist and see if I got any bites.
