7" Bell Records

Are the 7" vinyl Bell records from the 1950s microgroove?
The grooves look more like the grooves on a 45 rpm than those on a 78 rpm record.
I found some of these with Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey on them and I don't want to ruin them.

Yes they are. Use an LP stylus or even a mono 1 mil LP stylus on these.

Some of those 1950's era Bell (brand) records are styrene, a material that is weaker than vinyl.

Yes, some certainly are styrene. I'm not sure of the chronology of the pressings, but the ones I have with the yellow label (Dorseys, in fact) are styrene. They sound great, though. It's been quite awhile since I've looked at any of mine, but I think they even indictae on the sleeves that they should be played with an LP stylus.
