Victor motor question

I have a VV-215 motor (extra) that has the motor designation as M240L, I just bought a VV-220 that has a bad or broken spring in it the motor designation on it is M240U. They look identical in every respect. I swapped them out and I was just wondering what the U vs L meant? Does anybody have an idea?

Thanks
Gene

I am not sure, but it may just be a casting designation, like a mold number or something.
