Boy pardon my ignorance, but the turntable/controls on that looks like it is from a much older Graphophone. I have a Columbia upright from late teens that has that same motor start/stop, speed control set-up.

I checked several images and videos available on the internet, and yes, the motorboard looks correct. You're right in saying that the one above resembles earlier motorboards though.

These big American Viva-Tonal Columbias seldom if ever turn up here in the UK.

For it's rarity alone I would buy it in preference to a Re-Entrant HMV, and at $650 with that family provenance it must surely find a good home.

FYI...for those that may be interested...this machine is absolutely correct.

If it were on the east coast, I'd be all over it!
