Looking for a first generation coulumbia q phonograph from 1899 I'm willing to pay $225.00 -$300.00 thanks.

I think you'd be much happier with an Eagle (Graphophone Type B). They are in the same general price range and play much, much better than the Q. Just something to consider.

You should be able to find a nice Q of the type you want in your price range. Be sure to educate yourself as to how it should be equipped. I will try to post some detailed pictures of mine later today.
I don't know where you live, but Stanton Auctioneers usually have several to choose from at their April and November auctions here in Michigan and they usually sell for $150 -300.00 depending on condition.

Thanks guys I'm just fascinated by the columbia q because how it was built it's such a great liitle machine alouth it was there cheapest machine

I'm taking one with me to the Charlotte Show in March. It's the early nickle base with the original reproducer. It's the caseless model. The only thing that's not original is the speed screw nut and governor balls. It runs good. I would take $250 for it. If this sounds like something that your interested in, I can post pictures.
