For sale is a 1918 Victor Schoolhouse complete, save for the horn, that I intend to place for sale online this Sunday however I would be happier to sell it to a member of the forum. This is an untouched find and given I am primarily interested in cylinder machines and that I don't have a spare horn I have decided to release the phonograph from my possession. Delivery to the Wayne show next month is possible, as is Union in June, and I am open to discussion of interstate delivery as well. I live in central Ohio to give a sense of distance.

Since this is a bit of a rush decision I will be unable to provide photographs until late tomorrow morning/ early afternoon so it's condition will be described in detail below:

The machine dates to around 1918 and features a slip-in elbow with characteristic top slot for the horn. Nickel-plating is very nice all around and the bracket is very clean with great pinstriping. I have not rebuilt the Exhibition reproducer apart from screwing on a more intact original back flange just so it could be fastened to the tone arm! The machine has what I assume to be the original crank, needle cup, and turntable, all in good condition.

Overall the finish is mostly intact but fairly dry with the interior planes the most preserved and a sections of the exterior showing shellac flaking, with the finish getting darker the close to the feet. This machine may have been stored in a garage or some deal as there's evidence of moisture exposure -not water damage- mainly in the legs and by the separation of veneer (no loss) on the shelf door. The sliding album shelf is present, with the back a bit dingy and missing the end slat. The license paper on the reverse side of the shelf is about 75% intact, with the latest patent date 1917. The two rear legs are both missing the curved side pieces at the feet.

So, there you have it. A presumably untouched Schoolhouse that probably spent most of it's life in a garage here in central Ohio. Please feel welcome to send along an email if interested or, given the time-sensitive nature of the sale, you may contact me directly at your convenience (I stay up late) below:

*six one four five five eight five three eight one*

It should be noted that I am open to discussion of possible trades though I would prefer a monetary transaction to help directly fund current projects, one of which involves completing a rear-mount Monarch!

Hi Jake,

Been looking for a Schoolhouse. A couple members of the forum offered me one but I was not happy with them and passed. Could you send me some pictures and the price when you get a chance?
