stuck crank

any insight or tricks to get a crank out that seems stuck? Victor 9, tried turning it backwards with considerable pressure but it wont budge, i don't want to snap it thanks

try to shoot some penetrating oil, it might help. if that fails, try to remove the screws holding the motor to get access to the winding shaft so you can use vise-grips.
there's no magic trick.

You might try something I've had success with - take a hot soldering iron and press it on to the crank until it gets hot then try it. Sometimes a little metal expansion is all that is needed. Cliff

PB Blaster is an excellent penetrating oil, and can be gotten at most auto parts or hardware store.
If you use it, I would avoid spraying it straight on the crank, because it comes out with a lot of force and volume and it will get all over everything. This will be true of any spray type oil. What I would do is spray some in a container, and then use the red straw to pick up a drop of oil and put it where you want it. A few drops will do it.
I don't have a lot of experience with victrolas, but the soldering iron idea may not work because the crank will dissipate heat as fast as a small soldering iron can deliver it. But... it can't hurt to try.

Heat or penetrating oil should help. If you are going to try heat, do it first so you don't risk accidentally igniting any of the penetrating oil residue.

Try Power Lube (a/k/a CRC 5-56), in a spray can from hardware and auto stores. If you're careful, you can coax just a little out of the nozzle with a gentle squeeze. This stuff penetrates like crazy---you can usually see it being drawn in by capillary action---and will work in many situations like the one described. Power Lube!

If you remove the two screws holding the crank bushing in place, you can slide the bushing out, giving you better access to spray penetrating oil on the crank where it threads into the motor. It would also help if you turned the phonograph on its side so the oil can run down the crank, towards the threads.
