Date of manufactuer?

Any thoughts on when an Edison DD C19 with serial number 14023 was made? The renumbering from C250 to C19 took place in April 1919 and they were pretty big sellers, so I am guessing not too far into the production run??

I don't know whether the serial numbers were restarted with the model number change and, if so, what the first number assigned was. I'm guessing that the numbers did restart, though, as I would have thought there were more C250s made than that.

Clay,

It would seem that by November 1919, the C-19 serial numbering had hit 89,000:

I would speculate that your C-19 must date from May or June 1919 based on the earlier hypothesis. I wouldn't take any of this to the bank, but so far it all hangs together... :?
