I recently got a Edison C-250 DD phonograph and I was wondering what the Edison drawer record dividers like in this thread http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =2&t=15296 are made of and if they could be reproduced?

Tom,

These were made from heavy brown card stock, very common stuff from this period, I think.

I have a picture that might be helpful if you want to make your own. Each divider was cut the same with the corner with the number being a much smaller radius than the opposite top corner. The numbers were stamped in the small radius corners. The numbers were printed on the right corner, then left corner, all the way through. The numbers were stamped on the small radius corner then installed with that side forward, each consecutive divider was in backwards from the one in front. That's the best I can explain it. The picture will make it all clear.

There were 2 sets of 50, one set for each drawer. Each record slot held 10 dividers.

Hope this helps!

Cliff

Interesting, I haven't seen any originals of these for sale before. What a nice addition they would make!

They're out there. I actually bought a complete set of them complete with index cards from another member here. I've seen them on eBay as well.
