I'm pretty new to this stuff, but I have never seen one of these.

Hi Scott,
Thanks for posting that! It's a very nice shaver! Looks to be in fine shape.
If you want to see how one of these is used,
please check my web site and click on the
"finishing operations" video.
I'm constantly in the market for shavers and
shaver parts because when they are used all
the time, one can never have too many of them
nor too many parts for them.
This one is a bit too far away for me, but it
would be well worth a look for anyone who wants
one and lives closer to it.
Thanks,
Chuck

Seems a nice price and in good condition. I have 3 Edison shavers. One just like this one, that is my workhorse, it has now been used for two years, all original except for the belt, which I get thick o rings at Tractor supply company for about 2.00 for a packages. The original belts actually lasted until about 2 months ago, wish they still made them, they lasted probably 70 years, they were cloth belted rubber v belts. This is a very powerful shaver, and shaves at over 1000 rpm. I have a portable black one, with the same top works as this and a later one from the 40s that is at the LA cylinder studio that is located at Century Guild. As Chuck says, for a serious cylinder recording enthusiast, a commercial shaver such as this is indispensable!!!!!!
