Just brought home some Circasian walnut, I think. 6 pieces with 4 matching and 2 matching.

Even if it ain't CW, it's still pretty. Got just the machine for it, too.

Looks like a Burled Walnut to me(?).

A very beautiful grain!

I too think it's burled walnut and not circasian.

This item is sold in my local supermarket, where it's called a "flour tortilla." (Well, it looks like one, anyway.) :)

It is.

My "day job" is restoration of classic German cars and I know burled walnut well from Mercedes cars. I do a lot of veneer work with burled walnut, Macassar Ebony, and zebrano or zebrawood.

There are a few suppliers that do sell Circassian walnut veneers, though how they stack up against what was available during the "Victrola era", I don't know. Prices seem to vary, depending on the grain pattern.

For instance -- http://www.veneersupplies.com/brands/Wa ... an%29.html
