Well, for nice jazz selections on BA I you should look out for almost any one by the Georgia Melodians. They are one of the very best to find and already start in the 4000's.

Harry Raderman's Jazz Band and Kaplan's Melodists can be found on Amberols. They're listenable, though not particularly hot. Also look for the Golden Gate Orchestra (California Ramblers).

Blues and Jazz are tougher to find on cylinders than on Edison disks, and may often cost more. However, they do exist, and some good ones too. Besides the groups already mentioned, visit YouTube and listen to Edison recordings by the Louisiana Five, particularly "Foot Warmer". The Original Memphis Five made a few disks that *might* have been dubbed to cylinder. Look to Earl Fuller's jazz records for the rowdiest, rawest, most anarchic form of jazz that I ever heard on Edison.
Besides Blues and Jazz, there are some other musical genres worth considering if you like snappy music. You usually can't go wrong with fox trots by the Broadway Dance Orchestra or one-steps by Jaudas' band/orch. Anything by Green Brothers is worth considering.

The "Top Notchers" made some good sides like "Honey Babe" but I doubt it was ever dubbed to a cylinder:

Go here. I bought 3 cylinders but haven't received them yet. Wang Wang Blues is a good one and Kansas City Kitty.

I can attest to Norman's repro cylinders being TOP quality repros. Worth every penny!
