Seller notes "good condition". Wonder if that just means good visual condition. No mention of a horn.

It's a typical run in the mill Standard B. Nothing really spectacular. A little pricey, I think.

Seems to be the way things go here on the west coast, everyone compares the prices antique stores are asking. Here in Vancouver, which I would think is the same in Seattle, antique stores price high as they have Asian tourists walk through every now and then and buy up everything in site no matter what the price.

A standard with a nice flowered horn would be listed for $ 2100

Now everyone trying to sell an average machine wants a kings ransom.

fourforty, This goes for this and any item you may have interest in. If it is nearby, I suggest that you inspect it. Maybe one of the cylinders will make it a real find. The owner may wish to be rid of it. Just don't pay anything close to $600 for that. Do your homework and get your feet wet. It's a great learning experience.

I expect to see common cylinder machines like this Standard for around $300 at the Rose City Collectors Market in Portland, OR on May 18th. That's not too far from Seattle. Jerry

I have yet to take the plunge and get an Edison machine. Mostly because my wife and I have a house that is only 1000sf in size. Cozy. The wife was very understanding with me purchasing in the last year both an Orthophonic Granada and a Regina disc music box.

If I did get an Edison it would be a Triumph. Ideally I would have my great-grandparents Triumph Model A, still in the family since new. I am not holding my breath for it since it is my aunt's now, and she has a son and his children to will it to. I had the unforgettable experience to hear it as a 10 year old boy in 1967, shortly after great-grandfather died. The Triumph doesn't run now, due to sitting for 4+ decades, but it still looks mighty fine to me. Dates from 1902-1904, according to Frow. Here are some pictures of my family heirloom:
