Hi
Not sure if this is the correct place for this. I was in my loft looking for some leather phonograph belts and came across an old book called The Home Handyman - A 1001 jobs in the home simplified. In it was a 6 page article about soundbox repairs, which maybe useful to someone on the forum. I have copied the pages and attached here. Hope it is of use to someone. I would not suggest that the contents are all correct. You must decide yourselves.Sorry not sure how to put pages into 1 folder.

Very interesting post. Does it have a date on it? My guess is from the 1920's

The gramophone pictured in Fig.3 is an HMV Table Model 104, catalogued from 1929 to 1934, so presumably the book is contemporary.

I must say that the author's comments on medium and soft tone needles are not consistent with my experience, having used them very satisfactorily for well over 50 years!
