Hi all,

I recently got a concert from eBay. It has serial number C132. Motor: 4524 Is this one of the machines that was first released from factory in 1899?
Hope it's a right place to ask. thanks

Concert No.132 left the factory about April 1899. It is indeed among the first sent out, since the first machines left the factory in March.

Thanks for your help George! I will be able to put all parts back on Sunday or so and some pics of course. The only feature I can tell is the name plate on it. Here is pic. I have seen two different types. One has EDISON SPRING MOTOR FOR PHONOGRAPH just as shown and another is similar to this but followed by patent date after EDISON SPRING MOTOR. which one is earlier? I guess they were both used on Spring motor(early Triumph)? and thus they were both accepted on CONCERT? Thanks

Only the earliest Concerts have the "Spring Motor" plate, but always without patent dates. The plate you show (without the dates) is correct for the early Concert.

The plates with patent dates are earlier and found only on the Spring-Motor Phonograph. The slightly later plate without the patent dates (as pictured above) are also found on the Spring-Motor Phonograph.

Finally I got my machine repaired yesterday. Can anyone give a close picture of the lid locker? Both of them are lost from mine.

Great Edison Concert! I have the same model but much later production. You asked about the lid locking latches. Here are a few pictures of mine. I believe that the same latch type was also used on the Edison Spring Motor Phonograph ( early Triumph)
