Looks to be a Plano-Reflex model from the UK. For $200, it might be worth it.

Columbia New Console Model 156a, costing £27.10s it was the third most expensive machine in the 1929 catalogue.

I sure hope somebody snaps this one up. I noticed that the seller states:

"COULD BE WORKED AS A LIQUOR CABINET."

As it must be something of a rarity in the USA I would think it well worth $200.

These big Plano-Reflex Columbias are underrated in the UK and sell for a fraction of the price of their HMV equivalents. They play well, there are no pot metal problems with their excellent No.9 and No.15 soundboxes, and their Garrard motors seldom suffer from the hardened grease problems which afflict HMV's.

Somebody please save it!

I saw a Youtube video of one of the smaller Plano-Reflex models and it sounded very good. I hope someone does save it!

Eric Reiss speaks highly of the Columbia "Plano-Reflex" tone-arms in his book...
