Just got my first Vulcan cylinder, "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." Not inexpensive by any means, but the quality is really very good. Will make a nice demo cylinder for guests to hear.

Someday you might find a Shawn Borri Uncle Josh routine, on Vulcan. They are really nice records.

Vulcan has two new releases out this month....
Dixie
The Marriage of Figaro Overture
These are great 2 minute cylinders.
I am hoping they will come out with some of the following:
4 minute wax amberols of Sophie Tucker
The Night Alarm (early brown wax recording)
Laughing Song (George W. Johnson)
Funeral March of a Marionnet (Wax Amberol)
These are just a few selections that I hope that they will release one day.

I've just bought a copy of Vulcan's "Marriage of Figaro" Overture and can thoroughly recommend it. It's a beautiful cylinder and like all Vulcan's products, is extremely well made and finished.
All the best

I used to order Vulcan Cylinders a lot. I have over 100 of them....though that was when they were decently priced. Now they are almost twice the price that they used to be, and then add on the crazy European VAT+ Tax plus shipping to the U.S.....and it's insane...
Until Vulcan goes back to their old prices of a few years ago.. I'm not buying from them anymore. Their quality is excellent though, but for the price they are asking for their cylinders now, I could buy an original!

Tony, price will deter me as well, except for a few special things. Not only are they high, but they have a 30 pounds sterling minimum order now.

I have to agree, I thought it was me, but it seems they are putting all of their cylinders in the 22 and 45 GBP prices. That adds up to about 80-100.00 per cylinder in U.S. currency. I do like the quality but they need to put some out in the cheap series as well.
Berlin Phonograph Works also has some great cylinders but again they are getting expensive. I like the fact they have some hot numbers.
Edisonia has been putting out some good cylinders but I have most of them in original cylinder format.

Tony,
You say you have about 100 of the Vulcan cylinders, which ones do you have? I have about 30 of them. I stick with the copies of the original cylinder recordings from the era.
I am curious if you have some which I missed from years ago?
