Interesting phono made to look something like a piano

Here is an interesting looking machine on eBay, located in Wisconsin, made to resemble the styling of an upright piano. Have not researched it, as it is a long, long way for me and I wouldn't have room for it anyhow, and am not sure what it is. Looks like the back boards have been replaced with plywood at some time in the past and I am thinking the lower storage compartment may once have had record dividers or shelves that are now gone.

Likely a 'Premier', or made by them for another brand.

I'm seen a few that were designed to look like baby grands, but these are the first pseudo-uprights I have seen. Thanks for posting!

Premier was a manufacturer of these, as was a renegade sort of company in Iowa. They are not really that hard to come by. The one on eBay has been around the marketplace for quite some time now.

Columbia's 1907 Symphony Grand "Disc Graphophone," their initial offering to compete with the Victrola, was also shaped like an upright piano.

The Columbia Symphony Grand is an entirely different class of machine than that of the machine which is discussed in the opening lines of this thread. The Columbia machine is quite rare, and, in my humble opinion, very under-valued by collectors today.
