I found this horn at a garage sale by itself.
I cleaned the horn a bit wiped away the dust and some rust.
The horn itself is in one piece and decal is mostly intact but there are rust everywhere especially around the rim.
I don't want to repaint it completely but right now I wouldn't put it on display.
Here are my questions
1. What should I do about the rust, I been cleaning some off with W-40.
2. Is there a good way to touch up some spots without repainting the whole thing? Most of the horn will probably look ok if i Clean and wax it. But there are some spots with rust spots the size of a quarter and someone carved FRED on the bottom of the horn with a needle.... I want to cover those up.
I don't want to do a botch job, if anyone could recommend some products and tips.

Judging from the pictures, the horn looks pretty decent. I would clean the crud off with GOJO. For the rust around the rim, I would sand the rust off. Then I would use hobby enamel, semi gloss black to fill in the missing areas. If you can't get semi gloss black, then Testors in gloss will work. After it dries and cures, use fine 0000 steel wool to matte the finish. For the gold stripes, you can either paint them on or use 3M ⅛" gold striping tape. There is a thread about this on the Forum.
