Just got my newest Edison Standard Suitcase in the mail yesterday. It is a real nice early 2-clip model serial number S3152. It was purchased from one of the forum members and was a very nice addition to my collection. The handle is wrong but I will replace that as soon as I find one. Also has a nice rebuilt Automatic reproducer #36308.

Very nice looking machine. Hope you enjoy it. I had a very nice similarly equipped 4 latch that I let get away a few years ago - still wonder why I sold it. I intended to buy a complete fully equipped all original 4 latch at Stanton's this spring - that is until I saw it. It was very dirty and had several cracks in both the lid and the base board, so I revised my bidding strategy and didn't buy it. But, all's well that ends well. I ended up buying a suitcase Home in beautiful cosmetic condition and equipped with an automatic reproducer, a rebuilt recorder w/a good cutter, a shaver and a 14" all brass horn (which I think is original) all for about $300 more than I was originally willing to pay for the Standard.

Hey Rich,
Great addition! I have one and I think it is one of my favorite machines. I really like the simple lines of design and the primitive pre 1900 look!! With a tuned up reproducer they play very well.
all the best
Pete

It apparently spent at least part of its life in Australia, or other southerly parts. Do mandrels spin in the opposite direction south of the equator?

that was strange. I posted it from my Ipad and everything looked great. The pictures were all right side up. after seeing your comments I looked at it on my computer and the pictures were upside down. that's strange that on the Ipad they are not upside down, WHY?

Rich,
Congratulations on a nice machine.
I also picked up a 2-clip Standard recently.
Mine was very inexpensive, but re-finished (including re-painted bedplate), with missing gear cover, shaver, and adjusting screw (The screw that tightens against the side lever of the automatic reproducer.)
Is that the right term for that screw???

PS
Rich does your machine have holes for a gear cover like mine does?
Do you have an extra adjusting screw?
