Saturday purchase

Picked this up this morning (200 mile round trip) from a Craigslist seller. Edison B-275 Sheraton (Inlaid Plain), Ser #377. No chips or major scratches anywhere on the cabinet. Minor crazing and minor cracks in some of the inlay. Plays nice and loud, motor runs long, smooth, and quiet. The only issue I see is that the "volume" cable has separated from the slide knob that pushes/pulls the cable. I can't see any way to fix that without replacement (ideas?). One hour of cleaning with GoJo and a lot of paper towels, and here's how it came out.

I really don't know. Of the few I have seen, all have low serial numbers. I'll have to defer to the experts on that.

Scott did not pay much more than what a trip to Costco seems to run these days. Wonderful find!!! Congrats!

I forgot to add a pic of the store where this was purchased and thanks to miker2001 for supplying the Seattle Times newspaper article of the two men who bought Eilers Talking Machine Department.

The B-275s are scarce, but because of their pretty inlaid cabinets, they seem to have survived in greater percentage than some of the less expensive Edison Disc Phonographs. Considering how few were originally manufactured, they pop up with surprising frequency. Still a reasonably tough model to find.
One of my favorite Edison Disc models.

Nice machine, Scott. The dealer decal gives that machine some history to it. I see that it is an early one judging by the S/N. Congrats on it.
