I wonder if it is safe to use a c reproducer on brown wax cylinders. I had a chance to browse a hoard of them recently, and I tried a few, just for a few seconds each, on a Standard with a C reproducer. Did I ruin the record? Thanx

You'll find that searching the board will result in several discussions on this topic.

A Model C is generally considered too heavy to play brown wax cylinders.

The best reproducer to use is an Automatic or a Model-B for brown wax cylinders.
