The C-19 and C-250 have got to be some of the most imposing cabinets ever sold. Love those machines...

I agree, Scott. When I first set up my C-19 in the dining room opposite my VV-XVI, I wasn't sure I liked the style as much as the Victrola, but as time has progressed, I have really fallen in love with the bold lines. The Gothic grille motif has grown on me most of all because I am so astonished by flying buttresses and pointed arches used in architecture.

I agree. For whatever reason, they remind me of Devil's Tower in Wyoming. It takes the eye away from anything else around it. Truely impressive.

I also think it is an impressive design, with the curve of the legs and corners, the cathedral/gothic cut outs in the grill and its massive, substantial size. The design is very captivating.

I think it is one of the nicest and definitely most impressive of the Edison Disc machines...

I got my first one (C-19) in Mahogany at an auction a number of years ago, it was "better than most" in terms of cabinet condition, but still kind of dull-looking.

Then, last year, forum member gemering offered a C-19 in Golden Oak, and I jumped on that...

What a difference !

"The Spot" for either machine is a corner of our dining-room. Our house was built in 1917, and is more or less "Colonial Revival" on the outside, with strong Arts & Crafts design details inside, and the first floor is trimmed with dark-stained Chestnut with golden oak floors.... so the Oak C-19 blends nicely.

I love just looking at the machine...

I have a C-250 with the Duncan Stop in my living room.Mine has a mahogany cabinet.I got it from Jerry Donnell in 2002.My sister Grace,my mom,and I took a one day trip in her Ford truck to pick it up.We also picked up a Credenza that Jerry gave me.The C-250 has a paper with the history tacked in the horn compartment.It was purchased by Minerva Witz in Washington,DC in 1919.Minnie got it from E.F Droop and Sons.Jerry would be pleased that I have it.edisonplayer
