Thread within a post search?

Is there a way to search within a post that has multiple pages for a specific thread reply (topic or author)? I hope you can make sense of my question, sorry if it sounds confusing. I can find the entire topic post and replies, but then I have to view each post until I find the specific reply I'm looking for.
