I know that some collectors have put 4-minute points on Lyric reproducers & had good results. Instead of getting out the parts & looking, I will be lazy & ask if it's just a matter of popping a Model-H stylus bar in place.

Yes, If you want it to play just 4 min you can just switch it. If you want it to play both 2 & 4 min get the original style stylus and bar from Ron Sitko. He has them.

One qualification: If you want to play 2 minute WAX, you need the original stylus, but if you (like me) play 2 & 4 minute indestructibles, then an H reproducer works well. I had Steve Medved modify mine and it works great...

So the H stylus will play 2 min with good sound?

I just recently had a 2/4 min. Columbia Lyric reproducer rebuilt by Bob Farrell. He ordered the 2/4 min. stylus from Ron Sitko. The reproducer was rebuilt perfectly by Bob. It play both 2 and 4 min. fantastic in my Columbia BQ.

I had a 2/4 minute stylus years ago on my Col BET, but I dropped it on a tile floor and you guessed it, it landed right on the stylus and that was that. What do the replacements run for the 2/4 minute stylus?

Thanks Harvey.I am glad you were happy with it. Ron gets $50 for a columbia 2/4 stylus in the bar.

One point(pardon the pun) is to look very closely at the stylus bar. You will probably need a loupe or magnifier for this. If the stylus or hole is cocked at an angle, then this Lyric is for a 2 minute reproducer, and a 4 min. or 2/4 min stylus will not work. If the stylus or hole is vertical or perpendicular, then a 4 min or 2/4 minute stylus will work. Something to consider.

Will an H stylus bar fit on a Lyric?
