Possibly the first 'youtube' For Sale notice here; - I think the free shipping & electric doohickey make $600 a nice price for this mahogany Amberola 5.

Nice machine. This is the first you-tube infomercial I've seen. Since the owner lives near San Diego, he should take it to the CAPS show and try to sell it there instead of parting it out. If that doesn't work, he should sell it on ebay.

Another boor trying to extort money, just like the idiot that parted out a nice Amberola III. "Buy this working machine or I'll destroy it!". His lame excuse about taking up room does not cut the mustard. Greedy folks that want money that bad should sell their brain because they are obviously not using it. /rant

"Give me $600 or I part it out but I'm really really really really reluctant to part out a complete, totally original perfectly running machine this old." The seller says that a couple dozen times. What a shame.

He has posted tons of videos. Some are instructional. He does tend to repeat himself. Big deal. Give him a break.

I hope anyone who's remotely interested in owning an Amberola V will contact the seller for more information.
The fragile wood grills are often missing on these, and if the rest of the cabinet's good, then I'd say with the included archivette and free shipping it's a very good deal. The packing and postage alone would be around a hundred dollars, IMO! The seller seems knowledgeable and willing to negotiate-$600.00 OBO
I own one already, and think the V mechanism equals and perhaps surpasses the Opera mechanism in terms of rock-steady playback.
I have no vested interest in my recommendation! :D

I recently paid between $400 and $500 with shipping for one with poor veneer (I am fixing) and no diamond B repro. I would do it again today! So, for that price and free shipping it seems to me to be a good deal. I love the motor, autostop, and steady play back I get from mine. Just my 2 cents.

I'm fine with his tending to repeat himself. I do that too. I do that too. Not so fine with repeatedly stating his intentions to part out the machine if not sold shortly because it's taking up space. It's a complete and all original example of a pretty rare machine. Hope he tries Craigslist as suggested.

Maybe someone should invite him to join us here. Seems the best and most logical venue for selling a nice Amberola V, imo.
