What I Brought Home....

I actually bought this through here, and thanks to a fellow board member, I was able to have this picked up and brought to me at the Wayne show. This is such a cool machine, but a little bigger than I thought originally! I thought I'd put it in my dining room instead of an actual dining table, but it's a little on the large side. Still, I've been having a blast with it. It sounds much better than one would expect, and after a little tone arm adjusting (filing joints down, oil and patience) it even plays Pathés beautifully without "sticking"!

Now that looks like a really neat machine...and i've never seen a set up like that for holding various types and tones of needles. Excellent. I particularly like the way this phono pretents to be a table....what will they think of next!
To play Pathés I assume this machine has the adjustable tone arm so that vertical cut disks can be played? Nice score Sean

I'm assuming late teens or early 20s. It has a rotating reproducer to play verticals. The neat thing is, if desired, when you close the lid, the leaf automatically raises itself to expose the horn!

Nice Sean! ...but what is it actually? Make/Model I mean... Wadell or something like that?
And will you actually be using it as a table?

Sean,
Very nice. For anyone who missed it, this machine was seen in the Yankee Trader section
here. I’d previously posted some information that I found on the company, and Matt had additional photos of it.

Sean: Thanks for posting pictures of the Waddell. Hopefully you use it occasionally as more than just a table! Glad it made the journey safely.

No worries, it's too big to leave out in the middle of my DR, so I'm probably going to end up shuffling some machines around so I can place it under the window in there. It will double perfectly as a record-sorting table in that place (which is right next to my modern playback system). I plan on using this machine a lot. I spent a few more hours last night just listening to stuff on it. Good times!
