Just brought home a nice Edison BC-34 and the reproducer has an 'A' stamped on the stylus bar.
What's that for?
Thanks! Cliff

I don't know, but the two NOS Edison DD styli I bought from Ron Haring also have this and while carefully comparing them to originals, they most certainly seem to be genuine Edison products. The only thing I could come up with is that perhaps (and this really is just a guess) these were later replacements, but still made by Edison. I'd like to hear if anyone here has ever seen these also. For what it's worth, the one I've installed in my reproducer is perfect, no issues, no dead wax lines, no groove scoring, just nice clean sound.

A total shot in the dark here.....could these letters be a form of quality control or a bench they were made..??.
